Room Schedule

The Importance of a Classroom Schedule

A consistent classroom schedule helps children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. When children know what to expect, they can transition smoothly between activities and focus on exploring, playing, and growing. A well-structured routine builds independence and helps develop time awareness — skills that support learning inside and outside the classroom.

The Power of Picture Supports

Visual schedules with pictures make the day easier for young learners to understand and follow. Picture supports help children who are still developing language skills, giving them a clear sense of what’s happening next. They also encourage independence and reduce anxiety, helping every child feel included and successful.

Our center provides well-balanced, nutritious meals designed to support growing minds and bodies. Each lunch includes a healthy protein, whole grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables to ensure children receive the energy and nutrients they need throughout the day. Meals are prepared with care, following childcare nutrition guidelines, and we are mindful of allergies and dietary needs.

Did Someone Say Circle Time?

Inside the Classroom

Structured Activities

Structured Activities

Structured activities take place during circle time and small-group lessons. During this time, children are introduced to early literacy, math concepts, science, art, music, and social-emotional skills through fun, age-appropriate activities.

Learning Centers

Learning Centers

Learning centers are an important part of our day. Children rotate through different areas such as the reading center, dramatic play, blocks, art, sensory, and manipulatives. These centers encourage creativity, problem-solving, independence, and cooperative play.

Sensory Play

Sensory Play

allows children to explore and learn through touch, sight, sound, and movement. Activities may include sand, water, playdough, textures, and sensory bins.

Outdoor Play

Outdoor Play

Outdoor play is scheduled daily, weather permitting. Children enjoy active play, gross motor activities, and nature exploration to support physical development and overall well-being.

Story Time

Story Time

Reading time is included every day. We read stories as a group and also encourage children to explore books independently to build early literacy skills and a love for reading.

Technology

Technology

Technology is used in a limited and purposeful way. When used, it supports learning through educational videos, music, or interactive activities that reinforce the day’s lessons. Screen time is always age-appropriate and supervised.

Rhythm and Movement

Rhythm and Movement

is a fun and active part of our daily routine. Children sing songs, dance, clap, and use simple instruments while following actions and directions. These activities help build coordination, listening skills, confidence, and creativity.

Rest Time

Rest Time

is a calm and quiet part of our day where children have the opportunity to relax, recharge, and restore their energy. Each child has their own space to rest or nap, and soft music or dim lighting helps create a peaceful environment.

Art

Art

is a hands-on part of our day where children explore creativity and self-expression. They use a variety of materials, such as paints, crayons, clay, and collage supplies, to create unique projects.

Social and Emotional Learning

Social and Emotional Learning

is woven into every part of our day. Children learn to recognize and express their feelings, develop empathy, share, take turns, and build positive relationships with peers and teachers.
